These are widely-used international brokers; availability of specific China products still varies by account residency and local regulation. Always verify directly with the platform.

Buying Chinese stocks — common questions

Can I buy Chinese stocks from the US?

Yes. The simplest routes are US-listed China ETFs (MCHI, FXI, KWEB…) in any normal brokerage, or US-listed ADRs (BABA, JD, NIO…). For Hong Kong shares or A-shares you need a broker that supports HK trading or Stock Connect.

Why can't EU/UK retail buy US China ETFs?

PRIIPs rules restrict retail sale of non-UCITS funds in the EU and UK. Use a UCITS China ETF available on your local exchange instead. (Institutional investors are usually exempt.)

Can foreigners buy A-shares directly?

Direct retail access is limited. Most foreigners use Stock Connect through an eligible broker or get exposure via an A-share ETF like ASHR.

What about Hong Kong shares (H-shares)?

H-shares are generally reachable through international brokers or a Hong Kong account, and are usually easier for foreigners than A-shares.
